Make A Film On Our Dime: 2008 Guidelines
Email us your creative treatment based on one of the books listed below before 30 May 2008. Each featured author resides in the Vancouver area and each work is in a different genre. The Fiction and Non-Fiction books are hot off the press. The Poetry book will be released in fall 2008, which makes the filmic interpretation even more timely.
Our jury will review all submissions. The artist whose entry we feel captures the spirit of the book will be awarded $1,500 and the opportunity to work with seasoned professionals to translate their treatment into a 2 minute short film. The film will be screened at the Moving Stories Film Festival and Emily Carr University of Art and Design Theatre as part of the Vancouver International Writers Festival.
In order to qualify, you must be a current student or recent graduate (2006 or later) of the Emily Carr University of Art and Design. The entry deadline is 30 May 2008.
